July 2, 2007 : Early Summer Splendor

Let this be a record of what is blooming on July 1st, 2007. Snowhill hydrangea, Ostrich Plume Astilbe, Visions Astilbe. The roses are finishing up their first flush of bloom, but are still blooming. 'Fontanelle' iris, a spuria hybrid. My Siberian Blues dianthus crosses are starting to bloom. Coronation Gold Yarrow. Persicaria polymorpha is going strong and has been for awhile. Blue Hills Salvia still looks good but is finishing up. Veronicastrum.

Hostas look best this time of year. Cimicifuga 'Hillside Black Beauty', with it's dark purple foliage, looks great near a blue hosta.
