June 18, 2007 : Blizzard Mockorange

This new mockorange is wonderful. For years we've sold the Minnesota Snowflake Mockorange. The MN Snowflake planted right next to this Blizzard is six or seven feet tall without a single blossom. It seems to get hit by the winters now and then.

This Blizzard Mockorange, on the other hand, is smothered with blossoms and has never shown any winter injury. Before taking this picture Ken and I trimmed off all of the non-blooming new growth that was covering up some of the blooms.

Mockoranges are so named because of the fragrance of their blossoms, which resembles the fragrance of orange blossoms.
