June 8, 2007 : Apricot Iris with Cistena

A kind lady donated a whole bunch of iris a couple of years back. Unfortunately they were not labeled and there is no way of finding out what the names of the varieties are.

This rich apricot iris looked stunning in the morning sun against the backdrop of a rich maroon Cistena.

It's been sunny today after getting dumped on yesterday. The planting of the gardens is progressing, but there is still a ways to go.

I took advantage of the rain to drive up to Honker Flats, a greenhouse up by Middle River, yesterday. They have an excellent selection, even this late in the season. I took the opportunity to pick up some interesting plants for the gardens.
