May 24, 2007 : Potted Shrubs

Pocahontas Lilac, Blizzard Mockorange, and Magic Carpet Spirea put on a nice show in pots in front of the Bare Root Building.

We use these pots as samples--they are not for sale until we run out of the bare root form. Except for the lilac, which is left over from last year, the sample shrubs have been potted up from the same bare root form as the shrubs we are selling.

In general, shrubs planted from a bare root form take hold much easier and get established more quickly than those that have been grown in a pot.
