May 19, 2007 : Hostas in the Sun

The hostas in the hosta glade are pushing up and their leaves are starting to unfold. This is a critical time for them and I hope it rains soon. If they suffer from drought during the time that their leaves are unfolding, their leaves will be distorted and diseased-looking for the rest of the summer. We haven't yet gotten our irrigation system up and running for the season.
