May 4, 2007 : Geraniums in the sun

The evening sun shines into the garage door on the west end of the Quonset. That's our name for that greenhouse, for some reason. It's one of the older greenhouses, and one of the few that still has an interesting name. We took down the Sausage, a half-high hoophouse that you had to stoop down to walk into, many years ago. Now we've started naming our greenhouses by their width. "30" is 30 feet wide. Likewise "22" and "40". When we put up our second thirty-foot greenhouse we had to name it Thirty-Two. Our third one, built in 2000, had to be Y2K.
