April 24, 2007 : Shake it, Dale

Dale Gunufson is bare-rooting the Bergeson Dogwood cuttings that we rooted in sand last summer. We've found that they store better if left in the pot outside for the winter.

We will sell some of these little guys for hedge and plant most of the rest out in the field. They'll grow into a saleable shrub in one year.

Bergeson Dogwood are a little known secret that are proven to withstand harsh prairie conditions better than other common dogwoods such as Isanti and Cardinal. Their deep red winter stem color and bright fall color are combined with dense growth in a problem-free shrub.
