July 1, 2010 : Norwegian Tourist Choir

We talk an awful lot about Norwegians around here, but usually we're talking about the type that live around here and have never been to Norway. So it was fun to have a busload of actual Norwegians visit the nursery.

I started talking to a kind lady about piano music, and decided to see if she recognized an old Norwegian tune that my father plays on the piano. She knew the words and sang it for me. When I asked her to sing it again for my dad, she said "Should I get some Norwegians?"

They wandered in and started singing. It was an amazing treat to hear their strong choruses of traditional Norwegian songs. I got some of it on video, and posted it here:
