August 18, 2007 : Jewels of the Morning

A self-seeded morning glory is twining itself over some asters. It's deep purple flowers glow in the morning sun.

A steady stream of visitors is coming to the gardens these days, so you could say we are busy, but it isn't anything like the spring. Not so much urgent work to do. The sweet beeping birdsong of the cash registers is mostly silenced.

Let's just drink coffee and talk about plums and Early Splendor Amaranthus. I'll play you a song on the piano and then we can drink more coffee.
